I like to make simple, lucid yet intuitive websites; you can check them out below.
cheat day (inactive) source code
The cheat day website is a website I created for a clients
restaurant / takeaway business, to suit the new rustic style they
refurbishing the shop in. You can see the old site here.
It is a primarily static site written from the ground up, designed to provide
information to its users about the shop and its menus, links to ordering platforms and
a form of providing feedback to the business.
This business and the site is now shut down, but you can view the source code with the button above, or access the site locally through GitHub.
tabme source code
My first ever complex development project, a guitar
tablature transcription app, introduced me to the
world of UI / UX design and development, created as my
dissertation project.
It combined a big passion of mine, playing guitar, with what
I was studying at the time.
This application is still under
development as a personal project. As my web development knowledge is always expanding, I am always finding new ways to improve and add things to it.
It also gave me an insight in incorporating sound into a
webpage, something I wish to continue playing with in
future projects to combine my passion of music and guitar playing with web development.
react - basic apps source | code
Upon researching modern website development techniques in
the industry after I graduated, I found ReactJS was a very popular requirement
for businesses.
These are two very basic static applications created using
online tutorials, hosted on the cloud using Firebase. as ReactJS was not shown to me at university, I
taught myself the foundations of what it is, why it's used and how to
use it.
This is a library I would like to further study in a
professional working environment, to see its uses in the
real world, on large scale projects.
my portolio source code
The site you're on at the moment. This static page was created using plain HTML, JS and CSS. due to its simplicity, I found no need using things such as ReactJS or VueJS.
This is my first piece of work using the aesthetic that I would like to continue in my future of website development, minimalist design that is easy on the eyes.
This site is being hosted on an Ubuntu server, running on a DigitalOcean droplet on the cloud using Nginx.
what about myself ?
My interest for creativity, design and development started whilst studying computer science at the University of Portsmouth, living by the colourful coast of Southsea.
When it comes to websites, I like to keep things straightforward: conveying all
necessary information without too much going on on the screen. Although my main interests are in creating
smooth front-end experiences, I have experience in using
back-end technologies such as NodeJS,
Express and MongoDB . . .
. . . but you can read more about this on my cv.
